Job Location and Salary

  • Location: Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Hyderabad, with coordination activities at the PCU office in Karachi.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Director will oversee all aspects of project execution, including:

  1. Leadership and Coordination:
    • Manage the daily operations and activities of the project.
    • Collaborate with provincial and district-level teams to ensure effective implementation.
  2. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement Annual Project Implementation Plans (PIPs).
    • Align project goals with timelines and resource allocation.
  3. Procurement and Financial Management:
    • Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with World Bank Procurement Regulations.
    • Monitor project budgets, transactions, and financial reporting.
  4. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure adherence to environmental and social standards as outlined in the Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP).
    • Prepare and submit detailed progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Foster a results-driven work environment within the Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
    • Supervise environmental and social experts and facilitate monitoring and evaluation.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Livestock or Fisheries disciplines.
  • A Master’s degree in Project Management is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of professional experience in BPS-17 or above within the Government sector.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Director/Manager or Deputy Project Director in foreign-funded projects, preferably World Bank-funded projects.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills in English and Sindhi.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Sindh’s livestock and aquaculture sectors is an advantage.
